Dear little pea,
It’s been a while since I last wrote so although there’s a lot of things that have happened in this time, it won’t be a detailed day by day documentation of two month’s activities!
My last letter was before your second scan and we were waiting to find out if you were a little girl or boy…
We kept it a secret for a little bit and it was nice to have something to ourselves for the next 5 days. On the following Sunday we invited both our families over for a ‘gender reveal bbq’ and it turned out great 🙂 Everyone was so sure that you’d be a little girl that they were pleasantly surprised when all the blue balloons and confetti were emptied out of our deorated box!
Since then we’ve been buying little pieces for you here and there like clothes, toys and feeding equipment; also being the bargain queen that I am, I’ve hunted down some amazing preloved things that were just too cute not to get.
At the beginning of June we went away for a little holiday to the Forest of Dean to celebrate our 5 year anniversary! ❤ It was so beautiful and lovely to get away for the week. It was also our last holiday together as a two as our next one will most definitely include you! Whenever that will be I don’t know..
Fast forward to the present and we are now in the third trimester. I can’t believe how quickly this has gone; at the beginning it felt like time was taking forever! You move around quite a lot now, mostly at midday and in the evenings. Sometimes you’re so wriggly I cant help but giggle at you!
We’re both pretty excited to meet you though I can feel myself getting more and more anxious as delivery day gets closer. I feel like that’s the only area I am unprepared for but I’m doing my best to help myself which is not easy, especially with these seizures which just makes everything ten times worse.I’m so intrigued to know what you look like which makes things less scary 🙂
One of my work colleagues came in to visit today with his week-old son and he was wonderful. I cannot wait until that’s us, holding tiny you in our arms for the first time and bringing you to visit people where I know everyone will love you so much.
I can’t wait until you’re here, though we need to finish the nursery first so please bear that in mind 😉
Lots of love
You’re about 16inches tall, weigh about 3lbs and are the size of a pineapple! You’re moving around a lot more, can open your eyes and you’re packing on all the baby fat you need to keep warm. You can open your eyes and your immune system is developing everyday for the outside world.
